I'm Guy Jacobs

I came to therapy in what appears to be a roundabout way, but everything I experienced since leaving school has led to where I am today.

At 16, I became a telecommunications engineer for British Telecom, and quickly discovered that my best attribute was an intuitive and analytical understanding of solving system problems.

A car accident at 18 left me hypersensitive and unprotected to the moods and emotions of others.  In looking for solutions to reduce this sensitivity, I studied courses in psychology and attended sessions with some leading behavioural specialists.

When I began studying mental health, I realised there were clear correlations between the psychological process and the analytical skills used at British Telecom.  With mentors from different industry backgrounds, I was able to forge a career path that combines analytical skills with the heightened intuitive skills brought about by the car accident.

It has now been 24 years since I first began as a therapist, and I continue to use therapeutic practices including Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing, Hypnosis, Timeline Therapy along with a few lesser-known strategies
